Seems like Sweden has foud its new football gem. His name is Lucas Bergvall and is a name to remember. He caught the eyes of the leading loical clubs after some good performances for the Swedish youth squads. In February this year he signed for Djurgardens from Brommapojkarna for 900 thousand Euro.

Bergvall was born on the 2nd of February 2006 and plays as a cental midfielder. His career started in Brommapojkarna, where he progressed through their youth squads and his debut was made on 9th of July in a second tier game against Örgryte IS. Since October 2022 he is a professional player.

He is newly promoted to Sweden’s U19 squad, where he has 3 games with no goals.

As said Bergvall acts as a central midfielder. Among his strengths are dictating the tempo, creating chances for the strikers and scoring from long distance. He posseses good technical qualities – passing, dribbling, shooting – which is essential for his role. What’s more, he is able to play as an attacking midfielder too, namely behind the strikers.

What Bergvall has to improve with is his overconfidence and tending to risk in many situations. He is still lacking on physical strength, which could allow him to be more competitive, especially in the one-on-ones. And of course he doesn’t have the experience yet to play on highest level, after being part of a second league side until February.

With Alexander Isac, Dejan Kulusevski and the new generation, which Sweden is producing, we can claim, the future of “Tre Kronor” seems to look promising.
