Still 16 years old, but already signed with Real Madrid – this is Endrick Felipe. The 14-times european champions proved their excellent scouting network again with guaranteeing the sign of a new Brazilian football gem.
Endrick is currently playing for the Brazilian side Palmeiras. His age is the only problem for him to join Real Madrid immediately.
He is born on the 21. July 2006 in Brasilia and since 2016 is part of Palmeiras’ squad. Making his debut on the 6. October 2002, he became the youngest ever player to participate for the club – with just 16 years 2 months and 16 days. Up to 17.12.2022 he has made 7 appearances, having scored 4 goals in the local Serie A.
His youth career has an interesting beginning. As Endrick started playing football with the age of four, his father kept posting videos with Endricks’s goals on YouTube and hoped, that his son will be noticed. Later, after his son joined Palmeiras, he received a job as a cleaner in the club, because of the tough financial situation of their family.
His talent caught the eye of the top clubs after scoring 165 goals in 169 games in Palmeiras’ youth squads and especially after taking part in Copa Sao Paulo, where he scored 7 goals in 7 matches which brought him the Player of the tournament award.
He is left footed, and even if he plays as a striker, Endrick loves playing as an attacking midfielder and assisting for scoring goals. Although he is just 16 years old, he is already showing good developed pace, acceleration, dynamism, ball control and first touch, which makes him an excellent player for playing with counter attacks. And that’s what Real Madrid does since long ago.
Except of having offensive roles, Endrick shows very good work rate in the defensive phase of the game. His pace and explosiveness allow him to be a decent pressing forward and to gain the ball back after losing it.
What he has still to work on is his creativity and long shoots.
